Common CEO questions

If I pay now but don’t kick off until October, is it still deductible this financial year?
In most cases, yes. For the cash-basis taxpayer, the expense is incurred when paid. For accrual-basis taxpayers, the position is more nuanced. We strongly recommend a quick check with your accountant before paying. We can issue a tax invoice the moment you book.
What if my circumstances change and I don’t want to proceed?
You have six months. If you don’t schedule kickoff by 30 December 2026, the engagement is honoured for one additional grace quarter (until 31 March 2027), after which it is treated as a paid retainer that can be applied to any AI Answers service at the prevailing rate. We don’t ghost. We don’t disappear.
How do I know which offer is right for my business?

Can I add integrations to my OpenClaw agent later?
Yes. That’s by design. The $5,000 EOFY OpenClaw build is intentionally scoped to one pain point with a standalone web/chat interface so we can deliver inside 30 days at a fixed price. Once the agent is live and you’ve decided it’s earning its keep, we’ll scope and quote integrations separately: email/inbox access, CRM or ERP, calendar, voice/phone, or direct API connections to your live systems. You commit to nothing now; you decide later, with a working agent already in front of you.
Can I claim the R&D Tax Incentive on this?
Custom AI build work like OpenClaw is often R&D-eligible for companies under $20M turnover, at approximately 43 cents per eligible dollar. The Receptionist build may also qualify in part. Discovery is a deductible business expense but not typically R&D-eligible. We include an R&D documentation pack with every build for your accountant’s records. Eligibility ultimately depends on your circumstances.
Is the price really fixed? No “scope discussions” later?
Fixed. The scope on this page is the scope you receive. If you want to add to it during the build, we’ll quote the addition separately and you can choose whether to proceed. We’ve been burned by scope-creep consultants too. We don’t do that to clients.
Who actually does the work?
Andy leads every engagement. Our developers Eden, Gab and Marley do the build. No offshoring, no junior outsourcing. You’ll meet the team that builds your project on the kickoff call.
What happens after the 30 December deploy deadline?
For projects scheduled by 30 December 2026, we deliver to the timelines on this page (2 weeks for Receptionist, 30 days for OpenClaw, 2 weeks for Discovery). Engagements not scheduled by that date roll into a one-quarter grace window through 31 March 2027 (see the “what if my circumstances change” answer above).
Why is this discounted? What’s the catch?
No catch. The honest answer: we want case studies, logos, and signed-up clients we can deliver hard for going into FY27. EOFY is the natural time for businesses to commit budget, so we’re trading a discount for a concentrated batch of new client relationships. The scope and quality are identical to full-price work. Andy doesn’t have two grades of build.
